Field Service Technician

Job Description

The Service Technician will handle installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance of heat treatment equipment. This role involves ensuring high-quality service, customer satisfaction, and promoting service opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Technical Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues with heat treatment equipment at customer sites.

Service Execution: Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations. Document service jobs and record warranty claims.

Material Management: Identify and prepare required materials (tools, parts) for service jobs.

Customer Interaction: Act as the primary contact for customers with service contracts and promote up-/cross-selling opportunities.

Job Coordination: Plan and schedule service jobs in coordination with the HUB Lead.

Administrative Tasks: Record hours worked and submit expense reports accurately and on time.

Safety Compliance: Follow all Ipsen safety protocols and policies.

Knowledge, Skills:

Industry Knowledge: Understanding of heat treatment equipment and industry.

Technical Skills: Mechanical and electrical aptitude, equipment maintenance.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Customer Service: High level of customer orientation and service mentality.

Computer Skills: Proficient in basic computer operations (MS Office, ERP, CRM systems).

Appearance & Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and positively represent Ipsen.

Location & Travel: Ability to live within 30 minutes of a HUB location; valid driver’s license and required insurance.

Education and Experience:

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: 5+ years in industrial equipment operation/maintenance, preferably in heat treatment; experience with equipment calibration, pyrometry, and vacuum systems is a plus.
