Ørsted envisions a world powered entirely by green energy. We specialize in developing, constructing, and operating offshore and onshore wind farms, solar farms, energy storage facilities, renewable hydrogen and green fuel facilities, and bioenergy plants. Recognized as a global leader in climate action, Ørsted is listed on the CDP Climate Change A List and was the first energy company to have its science-based net-zero emissions target validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Headquartered in Denmark, Ørsted employs approximately 8,900 people, and its shares are traded on Nasdaq Copenhagen (Orsted). In 2023, Ørsted reported a revenue of DKK 79.3 billion (EUR 10.6 billion).
A decade ago, we began our transition from a black energy company to a green one, initially known as DONG Energy. In 2017, we sold our upstream oil and gas business, marking our complete shift to green energy. This transformation rendered our old name, Danish Oil and Natural Gas (DONG), obsolete. Hence, we rebranded to Ørsted, reflecting our commitment to sustainable energy.
